Department: Operations/Site

Reports to: Rigging Operations Manager

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Utilize wire rope, cordage, chain, connecting hardware, hoisting devices, slings and other rigging hardware.
  • Ensure a safe work environment & comply with all OHS regulations, HR policies & industry best practices.
  • Have a teamwork-based attitude.
  • Communicate verbally in a clear & concise manner.
  • Demonstrate patience, sensitivity and tolerance towards other people’s needs.
  • Follow instructions & ask for clarification if unclear about the objective.
  • High steel rigging for arena/stadium shows (100’+)
  • Safe use of Fall Protection equipment when working at height to access building structure (eg. horizontal lifelines, full-body harness, Y-lanyard) Raise and safely secure rigging points as directed by Ground Rigging team
  • Inspect & verify installation or rigging points. Make adjustments to show rigging as directed by Ground Rigging team
  • Safely remove rigging equipment
  • May also assist the Ground Rigging team with assembling various types of rigging steel (eg. baskets, deadhangs, chokes), running motors and hanging truss
  • Lift rigging for corporate shows
  • Access building structure using MEWP, ladder or scaffolding
  • Safely secure rigging equipment to fixed engineered point or building structure
  • Inspect & verify installation or rigging points. Make adjustments to show rigging as directed by Ground Rigging team
  • Safely remove rigging equipment
  • Create ground support towers/structure
  • May also assist the Ground Rigging team with assembling various types of rigging steel (eg. baskets, deadhangs, chokes), running motors and hanging truss
  • Special Projects
  • BC Place secondary roof installations/removals & roof openings/closings
  • Permanent installations (indoors & outdoors)
  • Inspection, maintenance & repair of rigging equipment
  • Training for Jr. staff

Qualifications:

  • ETCP certified preferred
  • Rope Access (SPRAT or IRATA) is a benefit
  • Professional experience in Theatre/Arena rigging preferred
  • Experience in the operation of MEWPs is a benefit
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Fall protection certified
  • 2 years minimum post-secondary training (related theatre training)

Department: Sales/Rentals

Reports to: Sales Manager

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Meet and work with clients to establish their event equipment and labour needs. This may include additional options or design ideas based around the event space.
  • Create detailed quotes for show/event, entering quotes into database,
  • Supply detailed quotes for show/event to client and necessary parties,
  • Establish work priorities and ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in preparing operating budget and maintaining inventory and budgetary controls,
  • Support other Account Reps/Project Coordinators in gathering event details and entering into database,
  • Assist and support venue event planning teams, and their contracted suppliers, in production event logistics and information sharing.
  • Forwarding billing information to accounting,
  • Venue and RIGGIT operations support,
  • Assist in supervising technicians and related staff assigned to Show/Event as needed,
  • Contracted venues liaison,
  • Conduct analyses, oversee administrative operations related to budgeting, contracting, project planning and management processes,
  • File maintenance,
  • Closing files on completion,
  • Managing calendar (client or production meetings, pre-event, site or venue meetings)
  • Coordinate and plan logistics for equipment and labour in collaboration with client, venue, suppliers, and internal operations and labour teams.
  • Preparation of rigging and lighting rough technical drawings,
  • Maintain up to date understanding of lighting and rigging specifics as they pertain to RIGGIT inventory and venue specifications.
  • Maintain up to date understanding of lighting and rigging specifics as they pertain to the greater event production market.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, high pressure, live event environment
  • Understand opportunities to expand annual recurring events or maximize new events opportunities.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Preference given to candidates with 2+ years experience in Live event sales/office administration or similar positions. 
  • Strong math, organization and scheduling skills
  • At least 5 years of live event tech experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills, verbal and written.
  • Self motivated, organized and accountable
  • Full understanding of how the live event industry functions in a true 24/7 fashion.
  • Production manager/assist experience is a plus, 
  • Vectorworks/AutoCAD,  
  • Rigging and lighting experience

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mac user interface experience 
  • Strong MSExcel skills
